What happens to my content if I downgrade to the Free plan?

Your repository and all its content remain intact. Downgrading only changes your plan limits — you keep access to your data, but features and usage limits are reduced to the Free tier (e.g., 2 locales). No content is deleted automatically on downgrade.

Can I get a refund when I cancel?

Annual plan renewals are eligible for a refund if requested within 30 days of the renewal date. Monthly plans are not eligible for any refunds. To request a refund, downgrade to the Free plan first, then contact Prismic support with your repository name and billing information. Processing can take several weeks.

Can I reactivate a paid plan after canceling?

Yes. You can upgrade from the Free plan back to any paid tier at any time via Settings → Plans & Billing → Change plan. If you deleted your repository entirely, reactivation is not possible — you would need to create a new repository from scratch.

What happens to my data if I delete the repository?

Deleting the repository permanently removes all content, documents, media, and configuration. This action is irreversible. If you only downgrade to Free, no data is lost. Only use the 'Danger Zone' delete option if you are certain you no longer need any of the content.

Does canceling one repository cancel my entire Prismic account?

No. Prismic billing is per-repository. Downgrading or deleting one repository has no effect on other repositories or your Prismic account itself. Your account remains active and free regardless.

How do I fully delete my Prismic account?

Account deletion is a separate process from canceling a subscription. First downgrade or delete all paid repositories, then visit the Prismic Support Portal and open a ticket with the subject 'Delete my account', confirming your email and that you have no remaining repository affiliations. A support engineer will handle the final deletion.

Open your repository dashboard

Log in to your Prismic account at prismic.io and open the specific repository whose paid plan you want to cancel. Prismic billing is per-repository, not per account — your account itself is always free.

Go to Settings

Click the 'Settings' option in the left-hand sidebar of your repository dashboard.

Open Plans & Billing

In the Settings menu, click 'Plans & Billing' to see your current plan, usage metrics, and billing details.

Reduce usage if needed

Before you can downgrade, your current usage must fit within the Free plan limits (2 locales, limited users, limited API calls). If you exceed these, reduce your locale count, remove extra users, or wait for your billing cycle to reset API/CDN usage counters.

Click 'Change plan'

On the Plans & Billing page, click the 'Change plan' button to open the plan selection screen.

Select the Free plan and confirm

Choose the 'Free' plan from the available options. Review the plan limits shown on screen, then click 'Confirm' to immediately downgrade. Your paid subscription ends at this point and no further charges will be made.

Optional: Delete repository permanently

If you want to fully remove the repository and all its content (not just stop paying), go back to Settings, scroll down to the 'Danger Zone' section, and follow the instructions to delete the repository. Warning: this is irreversible and destroys all content.
