Can I access my data after canceling?

No. Deleting a cluster permanently and immediately deletes all data. There is no grace period or recovery option after deletion. You must export your data before canceling using EXPORT, cockroach dump, or managed backups.

Are subscription fees refundable?

No. Per CockroachDB's SaaS Terms & Conditions, all service fees are nonrefundable. Service credits from SLA breaches can only be applied to future invoices and cannot be cashed out.

Can I reactivate a deleted cluster or organization?

No. Deleted clusters cannot be restored, and deleting an organization cannot be reversed. If you need CockroachDB again, you must create a new cluster from scratch.

What happens if I just cancel my AWS or Google Cloud Marketplace subscription?

Your clusters will be deleted within 6 hours of marketplace cancellation unless you add an alternate direct payment method in the Cloud Console before that deadline.

Who is allowed to cancel or delete clusters?

Cluster deletion requires at minimum a cluster-level admin role. Deleting the entire organization requires the Organization Admin role. Billing changes require the Billing Coordinator role.

What happens to my account if a payment fails?

After a payment failure there is a 7-day grace period, after which your clusters enter read-only mode. If payment is not resolved, clusters are permanently deleted after 30 days.

Log in to Cloud Console

Go to https://cockroachlabs.cloud/ and sign in with your CockroachDB Cloud account credentials.

Open your cluster's Overview page

From the dashboard, click on the cluster you want to delete to open its Overview page.

Disable Deletion Protection (if enabled)

If Deletion Protection is shown as enabled, click the pencil/edit icon next to it, toggle it off, and click 'Save'.

Click Actions and select Delete cluster

Click the 'Actions' button in the top-right corner of the Overview page, then select 'Delete cluster' from the dropdown menu.

Confirm deletion

In the confirmation dialog, type the exact cluster name as shown, then click the confirm/delete button. The cluster and all its data are immediately and permanently deleted.

Repeat for all remaining clusters

Repeat steps 2–5 for each cluster in your organization. Billing stops once all clusters are deleted.

(Optional) Delete organization

To fully close your account, go to Organization Settings > Information page and use the delete organization option. Requires Organization Admin role. This action is irreversible.
