Will I get a refund when I downgrade or cancel?

No. Pusher does not pro-rate refunds. You retain access to your current paid plan until the end of the billing period you already paid for, but no partial refund is issued for unused time.

What happens to my access after I downgrade?

You continue on your current paid plan until the billing cycle ends, then your account automatically drops to the free Sandbox tier (200k messages/day, 100 concurrent connections).

Can I reactivate after canceling?

If you downgraded to the free Sandbox plan, you can upgrade again at any time from the dashboard. If you deleted your account entirely, deletion is permanent — you would need to create a new account from scratch.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Pusher retains personal data for up to 1 year after account termination. IP logs are kept for up to 14 calendar days. Account deletion cannot be undone.

Is there a free plan I can stay on instead of canceling?

Yes. The Sandbox plan is free with 200k messages/day and 100 concurrent connections. Downgrading to Sandbox keeps your account active with no charge and no credit card required.

Log in to Pusher Dashboard

Go to https://dashboard.pusher.com/ and sign in with your Pusher account credentials.

Open Account menu

Click the 'Account' menu in the top-right corner of the dashboard to open the dropdown.

Go to Channels Billing

Select 'Channels Billing' from the Account dropdown menu (or 'Beams billing' if you are canceling a Beams plan).

Click Downgrade

Find the Sandbox (free) plan in the billing page and click the 'Downgrade' button next to it. This schedules your plan to revert to the free Sandbox tier at the end of your current billing period.

Confirm the downgrade

Confirm the action when prompted. A banner will appear in the dashboard showing the scheduled downgrade date. No immediate email confirmation is sent.

(Optional) Delete your account entirely

If you want to fully close your account, go back to Account menu → 'Account' → scroll to the bottom → click 'Delete account' → enter your password to confirm. Warning: this is permanent and cannot be undone.
