Can I access my videos after canceling?

No. Per Mux's Terms of Service, all customer data may be permanently deleted after account termination. Export or download any videos you want to keep before canceling.

Will I get a refund after canceling?

Mux's standard policy is that all fees are non-refundable. The only exception is if you terminate due to a material breach by Mux, in which case you are entitled to a pro-rated refund for unused prepaid time.

How much notice do I need to give before canceling?

For contract and enterprise subscription orders, Mux requires written cancellation notice at least 60 days before the end of your current subscription period. Missing this window will trigger automatic renewal for another full term.

Can I reactivate my account after canceling?

Mux does not publish a formal reactivation process. Since it is a developer API platform, you can sign up again for a new account or contact sales@mux.com to discuss re-engagement on a paid plan.

Can I just downgrade to the free plan instead of fully canceling?

Yes. Mux offers a free plan with 100,000 delivery minutes per month and up to 10 stored videos, with no credit card required. Downgrading to free (rather than fully closing your account) may be a practical option if you want to pause usage without losing your account.

Log into Mux Dashboard

Go to https://dashboard.mux.com and sign in with your account credentials.

In the left navigation sidebar, click 'Settings'.

Under Settings, click 'Billing' to open the Billing and Payments section.

Export or delete your assets

Before canceling, download any video assets you want to keep — all customer data may be permanently deleted upon termination. You can use Mux's API or the open-source 'mux-delete-all-assets' script to bulk-remove stored videos and stop storage charges.

Cancel your plan or contact support

If a self-serve cancel or downgrade button is visible in the Billing section, click it to cancel your plan. If no button is available (common for contract or enterprise accounts), submit a support ticket at mux.com/support or email help@mux.com requesting cancellation.
