Will I get a refund after cancelling?

Smartlook does not publicly document a refund policy for paid plans. Assume no refunds — your access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.

What happens to my data after I cancel?

After your paid plan ends, your account downgrades to the free tier with limited functionality. Your existing data remains accessible in free-tier form. However, as Smartlook is being decommissioned, all data will be permanently deleted on September 30, 2027. Export your data via Smartlook Reports or the REST API before that date.

Can I reactivate my paid plan after cancelling?

As of May 31, 2026, Smartlook no longer sells new paid subscriptions (End of Sale). Reactivating a paid plan is not possible after that date. Existing paid contracts renew until August 31, 2027 at the latest.

How do I delete my account entirely?

There is no self-service account deletion button in the UI. Contact support@smartlook.com to request full account closure and data deletion.

How do I export my data before cancelling?

Use the in-app Smartlook Reports tool to export session recordings and analytics, or use the REST API for programmatic access. Smartlook recommends exporting all data well before August 31, 2027 when all paid access ends.

Is removing my payment card enough to cancel?

No. Multiple users have reported being charged at renewal after removing their card from billing settings. You must explicitly email support@smartlook.com requesting cancellation and receive written confirmation.

Log in to Smartlook

Go to https://app.smartlook.com/sign/in and log in with your account credentials.

Open Organization Settings

Click your avatar or initials in the app (top-right or sidebar), then select 'Organization settings' — not 'Account settings', which only controls your personal profile.

Review your Subscription

In Organization settings, navigate to the 'Subscription' section to confirm your current plan, billing interval, and next renewal date. Note the renewal date — cancellation must be requested before it.

Confirm no self-service cancel button exists

Check the 'Plans' section. Upgrades can be done in-app, but downgrades and cancellations are not available via self-service UI. There is no 'Cancel Plan' button.

Email support to cancel

Send an email to support@smartlook.com explicitly requesting cancellation of your subscription. Include your account email, organization name, and state you want to cancel before the next renewal. Keep the confirmation email.

Do NOT rely on removing your payment card

Do not assume that deleting your credit card from billing settings cancels the subscription. Multiple users have been charged at renewal after removing their card. Written cancellation via email is the only reliable method.
