For a prepaid service, you can simply not recharge when your plan expires and service will stop automatically. However, if you have Auto-Recharge enabled, you must cancel it first (at least 48 hours before the next scheduled charge) or you will be billed for another cycle.

Can I get a refund on unused prepaid credit?

Generally no. Once a plan is activated, it is non-refundable and unused credit does not carry over. If you believe you were charged in error, contact Boost support via chat or call 1800 100 933.

Will I lose my phone number when I cancel?

If you simply stop recharging, your number stays reserved for up to 6 months of inactivity before being permanently deactivated. To keep your number, port it to a new carrier before cancelling — the port itself will automatically close your Boost account.

Do I need to contact Boost to port my number to a new carrier?

No. Your new carrier initiates the port-out process. You just provide your Boost phone number and account details to the new carrier. Boost cannot block the port, and your Boost service cancels automatically once the port completes (typically within 24–48 hours).

No. Boost Mobile AU is prepaid with no contracts, so there are no cancellation or exit fees.

How long does Boost Mobile retain my personal data after cancellation?

Log in to My Boost Account

Go to myaccount.boost.com.au or open the My Boost Mobile app (iOS/Android). Sign in with your Boost ID (email) and password.

Cancel Auto-Recharge (if enabled)

Navigate to the 'Payments' tab and select 'Auto Recharge'. Toggle it off or select 'Cancel Auto Recharge'. Note: this can only be done if your next scheduled recharge is more than 48 hours away — if it's within 48 hours, you will still be charged for that final cycle.

Let plan expire or contact support to close account

If you only want to stop service, simply do not recharge when your plan expires — service ends automatically. For a formal account closure, proceed to the next step.

Request account cancellation

The support agent will process the cancellation. Confirm the effective date and ask for a cancellation confirmation reference number or email for your records.
