Can I cancel my Chubb Fire & Security contract online?

No. The Chubb Customer Portal (chubbfs.com) does not support online cancellation. You must cancel by phone (0344 879 1770) and/or written notice sent by post to their Blackburn address. Online agreements do come with a 14-day cooling-off period, but even then, written or phone notice is required.

Will I be charged a fee for cancelling early?

Yes, if you are within your minimum contract term. The standard early termination penalty is 50% of the charges that would have applied for the remaining minimum term. For rental services (FX Plus, Intruder 360 Plus), specific escalating fee schedules apply depending on how far into the contract you are — typically 6 months' rent is the minimum penalty. No early termination fee applies after the minimum term if correct notice is given.

Consumer customers on rental services with annual charges of £1,500 or less, who are at least 18 months into their contract, can cancel with 3 months' notice (annual billing) or 1 month's notice (monthly billing). What happens to my alarm equipment when I cancel?

If you purchased your equipment outright, it remains yours after cancellation. If you are on a rental agreement (e.g. FX Plus), Chubb retains ownership and will arrange collection of the equipment. A reasonable collection fee may apply. Do not dispose of or use rented equipment after giving notice.

Will I receive a refund if I cancel within the cooling-off period?

Yes. If you cancel within 14 days of entering the agreement (online only), Chubb will reimburse all payments received and no further payment will be required. If you requested services to begin within the 14-day cooling-off period, you may be charged for services already rendered.

Can I reactivate my Chubb contract after cancelling?

Check your contract terms

Locate your Chubb contract to confirm your minimum term and service type. Minimum terms vary: Fire Detection & Alarm Monitoring = 3 years; FX Plus/Intruder 360 Plus Rental = 3 or 5 years; Standard Security Maintenance = 1 year; Comprehensive Maintenance = 3 years. After the minimum term, the contract auto-renews until either party gives written notice.

Determine your notice period

If you are past your minimum term, you must give at least 3 months' written notice (notice cannot expire before the end of the minimum term). Consumer customers with an annual charge of £1,500 or less who are 18+ months into their contract may terminate with 3 months' notice (annual payers) or 1 month's notice (monthly payers). State clearly that you wish to terminate your agreement and ask for a cancellation reference number. Note the date, time, and name of the agent you spoke with.

Send a written cancellation notice

Send a formal written cancellation letter (required to make notice legally binding) to: Customer Cancellation, FAO: Fire Consultancy and Fire Safety Training, Chubb Fire & Security Limited, Shadsworth Road, Blackburn BB1 2PR. Include your account number, contract number, site address, and the date from which you wish to cancel. Send via recorded/tracked post to have proof of delivery.

Await written confirmation from Chubb

Chubb should send written confirmation of your cancellation. Keep this for your records. If you do not receive confirmation within 14 days of your notice letter being delivered, follow up by calling 0344 879 1770 and referencing your cancellation reference number.

Arrange return of rented equipment (if applicable)

If you are on a rental service (FX Plus, Intruder 360 Plus), Chubb will arrange collection of equipment. Do not use, damage, or dispose of rented equipment. Chubb charges a 'fair and reasonable' collection fee upon written request. Purchased equipment is yours to keep.
