Will my Tapo cameras stop working after I cancel?

No. Live view, motion detection alerts, two-way audio, night vision, and local microSD card recording all continue to work without a subscription. Only cloud video storage, rich snapshot notifications, Smart Sort, and weekly reports are lost.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

No. TP-Link's policy explicitly states subscriptions are non-refundable under any circumstances. Cancellation only prevents future charges — you keep access through the end of your current billing period.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes, you can re-subscribe at any time through the Tapo app or web portal. However, cancelled free trials cannot be reactivated — once cancelled, a free trial is permanently gone.

What if the cancellation option doesn't appear in my app or Google Play?

Make sure you're signed into the exact Google or Apple account used to purchase the subscription. If the issue persists, contact TP-Link support directly at tapocare@tp-link.com.

Will my cloud recordings be deleted when I cancel?

Recordings stored in the cloud will become inaccessible once your paid period ends and your plan downgrades to free. TP-Link may permanently delete cloud video that exceeds the storage limits of the lower tier.

Can I transfer my Tapo Care plan to another account?

No. Tapo Care plans are permanently tied to the TP-Link ID that purchased them and cannot be transferred to another account.

Open the Tapo App

Launch the Tapo app on your mobile device and tap 'Me' (located in the bottom-right or top-left corner depending on your app version).

Go to Tapo Care

Tap 'Tapo Care' from the Me menu. The app will identify your payment method and direct you to the appropriate cancellation flow.

Cancel via App Store (iOS only)

If you paid through Apple: go to iPhone Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > find 'Tapo Care' > tap 'Cancel Subscription' and confirm.

Cancel via Google Play (Android only)

If you paid through Google: open the Google Play Store > tap your Profile icon (top right) > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > find 'Tapo Care' > tap 'Cancel subscription' and confirm. Make sure you're signed into the same Google account used to purchase.

Cancel via Web Portal (PayPal or card)

If you paid by credit/debit card or PayPal: visit tapo.tplinkcloud.com/tapo_web, log in with your TP-Link ID, navigate to your subscription, and select the cancellation option.

Follow the on-screen confirmation prompt. You will retain access to Tapo Care features until the end of your current paid billing period.
