What happens to my account after I cancel?

Your service continues until the end of the current subscription term. After termination, you have a 15-day window to request your data. After that period, Descope may permanently delete all customer data per their Terms of Use (Section 4.5).

Can I get a refund when I cancel?

No. Per Descope's Terms of Use (Section 3.5), all amounts paid are non-refundable. The only exception is if the service infringes third-party intellectual property and cannot be remedied — in that case a prorated refund for the unused portion may be issued.

Can I cancel mid-contract?

No. Payment obligations under Descope's subscription plans are non-cancelable for the committed term. You can only cancel at the end of your current term by providing 30 days' written notice before the term expires.

Can I downgrade to the Free Forever plan instead of cancelling?

Descope offers a Free Forever tier (up to 7,500 MAUs, 10 tenants, 3 SSO connections). However, there is no documented self-serve downgrade button in the console — contact support@descope.com to request a downgrade to the free plan.

How do I prevent my subscription from auto-renewing?

Subscriptions auto-renew unless either party provides written notice at least 30 days before the current term's expiration date. Send your notice to support@descope.com well in advance of your renewal date.

How do I delete a specific project without cancelling my account?

In the Descope Console, go to Project Settings → General, scroll to the bottom, and click 'Delete Project', then confirm by typing the project name. You can also delete from Company Settings → Projects tab using the settings icon next to the project.

Review your subscription term end date

Log in to the Descope Console at app.descope.com. Go to Company Settings and note your current billing period end date. Cancellation notice must be submitted at least 30 days before the term end to avoid auto-renewal.

Compose a written cancellation notice

Prepare a written notice stating your intent to cancel at the end of the current subscription term. Include your company name, account email, and the specific plan you wish to cancel. Per Descope's Terms of Use (Section 4.1), written notice is required to prevent auto-renewal.

Send cancellation notice to support

Email your written cancellation notice to support@descope.com at least 30 days before your term end date. Alternatively, submit a support ticket directly from within the Descope Console using the support icon in the bottom-left corner.

Request data export (optional)

After cancellation is confirmed, you have a 15-day window to request your data in standard format. Contact support@descope.com to request a data export before this window closes, as Descope permanently deletes customer data after the 15-day period.

Delete your project (optional cleanup)

To remove your project from the console, go to app.descope.com, navigate to Project Settings → General, scroll to the bottom, and click 'Delete Project'. Confirm by typing the project name. Alternatively, from Company Settings → Projects tab, click the settings icon next to the project and select Delete.
