Log in via web dashboard

Go to app.mercury.com and log in. Account closure is only available on the web dashboard — the mobile app does not support this.

Zero out your account balance

Before starting, transfer all funds out so every checking, savings, and sub-account shows exactly $0.00. Use ACH, wire transfer, or a linked bank account. Wait for all transfers to fully settle.

Resolve pending transactions

Ensure no pending card transactions remain. Pending transactions can take up to 30 business days to settle. The closure flow is blocked until all transactions are settled.

Open Settings > Company Profile

Click 'Settings' in the left navigation sidebar, then select 'Company Profile'.

Click 'Start Request' under Close Account

Scroll to the bottom of the Company Profile page to find the 'Close Account' section. Click the 'Start Request' button.

Select a reason and provide feedback

Choose a reason for closing from the provided options and optionally add feedback. This is a simple dropdown/form — no retention offers or popups are shown.

Submit with 'Request to Close'

Review your selections on the confirmation screen, then click 'Request to Close' to submit. Mercury's team reviews the request within 2 business days and sends an email confirmation when the account is officially closed.
