Do I still have access after cancelling?

It depends on which option you choose. 'Cancel subscription renewal' keeps full access until the end of your current billing period. 'Cancel immediately' ends access right away — all active jobs are unpublished and archived, candidates become read-only, and the careers page stays live but shows no open roles.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

No. Workable's policy explicitly states they cannot provide refunds for any unused time remaining on the subscription, regardless of whether you cancel immediately or at renewal.

How do I reactivate my subscription?

If you chose 'cancel renewal', go to Settings > Plan before the period expires and click 'Reactivate' (shown in a yellow banner). Once the subscription has fully lapsed, you will need to re-subscribe through the Plan page.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Candidate and employee data is preserved in read-only mode after cancellation. After 45 days, candidates are auto-archived. If you ticked 'permanently delete your account data' during cancellation, all recruiting data is deleted and the careers page is fully removed — this cannot be undone.

Can I cancel if I pay by invoice?

Not via self-service. If you have a manual or invoiced subscription, the cancel option does not appear in the UI. You must contact your dedicated Workable account representative or reach out to Workable support directly to cancel.

What happens if a payment fails instead of cancelling?

The account enters an expired state and data becomes inaccessible. After 30 days on expired status, the account auto-converts to the free plan.

Log in to Workable

Go to workable.com and sign in to your account with your credentials.

Open Settings

Click on your account name or avatar in the top navigation, then select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.

Go to Plan

In the Settings sidebar, click on 'Plan' to view your current subscription details.

Click 'Cancel subscription'

In the current plan details section, click the 'Cancel subscription' link or button.

Complete the exit survey

Fill in the mandatory exit survey explaining why you are cancelling. You must submit this before proceeding to the next step.

Choose cancellation type

Select one of two options: 'Cancel subscription renewal' (disables auto-renewal, you keep full access until the end of your current billing period) or 'Cancel immediately' (ends access right away with no refund for remaining time).

Optionally request data deletion

If you want your account data permanently removed, tick the 'permanently delete your account data' checkbox. This is irreversible.

Confirm cancellation

Click the 'Cancel subscription' confirmation button to finalise. For manual/invoiced subscriptions, this self-service option is not available — you must contact your Workable account representative directly.
