Can I cancel Drata mid-subscription for a refund?

No. Drata's Subscription Agreement states that all fees are non-refundable and payment obligations are non-cancelable. Cancellation only takes effect at the end of the current subscription term. The sole exception is if Drata commits an uncured material breach of the agreement.

What happens to my compliance data after I cancel?

Your data remains accessible for export for 30 days after your effective termination date. After that window closes, Drata deletes your data. It is strongly recommended to export all audit reports, evidence files, and policies before your termination date.

Can I reactivate my Drata account after cancellation?

Yes, you can sign a new subscription agreement with Drata after cancellation. However, any compliance data deleted after the 30-day post-termination export window cannot be recovered. Contact sales@drata.com or your former Account Manager to restart.

Will my renewal price be the same as my original contract price?

Not necessarily. Drata's auto-renewal clause renews at Drata's then-current standard pricing, which may be higher than your original negotiated rate. Pricing can also increase if your headcount has grown into a higher tier or if you added frameworks mid-cycle.

Is there a self-service cancel button in the Drata dashboard?

No. There is no in-app cancel button or self-service cancellation workflow. The only way to cancel is by sending a written notice email to support@drata.com and engaging with your assigned Account Manager or Customer Success Manager.

Find your renewal date

Log in to Drata and navigate to Company Settings → Plan and Usage to locate your subscription renewal date. Alternatively, check your original Order Form document sent at signup.

Verify the 30-day notice window

Confirm you are within the cancellation notice window. Drata requires written cancellation notice at least 30 days before your subscription renewal date. If you miss this window, you will be automatically renewed for another full annual term.

Send cancellation email to support@drata.com

Compose an email to support@drata.com stating your intent to cancel/terminate your subscription at the end of the current term. Include your company name, account email, and desired termination date (end of current term).

Notify your Account Manager or CSM

Contact your assigned Account Manager (AM) or Customer Success Manager (CSM) directly to inform them of the cancellation. All Drata accounts have dedicated contacts — expect a retention conversation before the cancellation is formally processed.

Receive and track your support ticket

Drata will reply with a support ticket ID confirming receipt of your cancellation notice. Track the status via the Drata Ticket Portal or the in-app chat interface.

Export your compliance data

Before your termination date, export all audit reports, evidence, policies, and compliance data from within the Drata app or via the Drata API. After termination, data remains available for export for only 30 days.
