Sign in to your Proton account

Go to account.proton.me and sign in with your Proton username and password.

Open subscription settings

Click the gear icon (⚙ Settings) in the left sidebar, then select 'All settings', and click 'Dashboard' or navigate directly to the 'Subscription' tab in the sidebar.

Scroll to Cancel subscription

On the Subscription page, scroll down to the bottom to find the 'Cancel subscription' section and click the 'Continue' button.

Confirm cancellation intent

A confirmation screen appears. Click the 'Cancel subscription' button to proceed to the next step.

Select a cancellation reason

Proton requires you to select a reason for cancelling from a dropdown list (e.g. 'Too expensive', 'Not using it enough', etc.). This step is mandatory — the cancellation will not finalize without it.

Submit and finalize

Click the 'Submit' button to complete the cancellation. You will see a confirmation message and retain full premium VPN access until the end of your current billing period.
