Do I lose access immediately after cancelling?

No. Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier.

Are refunds available?

Codecademy's official policy is no refunds after the 7-day free trial. However, contacting support within 48 hours of an unwanted renewal charge or within 7 days of an annual plan purchase often results in an exception. Reach support via help.codecademy.com.

Will my progress and certificates be saved?

Yes. All lesson progress is saved permanently and remains accessible after cancellation. Earned certificates of completion stay available. Pro-exclusive content (advanced lessons, projects) becomes locked but your progress within it is retained for when you resubscribe.

Can I reactivate my Pro subscription later?

Yes. Log back in, go to Account Settings > Subscription, and resubscribe at any time. All previous progress will be right where you left off. Student subscribers must re-verify student status.

Is my account data deleted after cancellation?

No. Your account, profile, and all progress data persist after cancellation. Nothing is deleted automatically. Download any certificates before Pro access expires if you want local copies.

What if I subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?

You must cancel through Apple (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Codecademy > Cancel Subscription) or Google Play (Profile > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions > Codecademy > Cancel). Codecademy's website cannot cancel third-party billed subscriptions.

Log in to Codecademy

Go to codecademy.com and log in to your account.

Open account menu

Click your avatar or profile picture in the top-right corner of the page.

Go to Account Settings

Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu.

Open Subscription tab

Click the "Subscription" tab (may also appear as "Payment and Plan" depending on your account version).

Start cancellation

Click the "I want to end my subscription" or "Cancel my subscription" link/button.

Decline retention offer

Codecademy presents a pause offer (monthly plans) or discount offer — scroll down and click "No thanks, I'd like to cancel" to continue.

Select cancellation reason

Choose a reason for cancelling from the dropdown or radio list provided.

Confirm cancellation

Click "Cancel my Subscription" to finalize. A confirmation email will be sent to your registered address.
