Will I lose access to Tuta immediately after cancelling?

No. You retain full access to your paid features until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account is downgraded to the free plan.

Can I get a refund if I just subscribed?

Yes. Tuta offers a two-week full refund policy when you first upgrade to any paid subscription. Contact support at hello@tutao.de within that window.

What if I forgot to cancel before my subscription renewed?

Tuta will issue a full refund if you notify them shortly after the renewal invoice is issued. Email hello@tutao.de as soon as possible.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. You can log back into your Tuta account at any time and resubscribe through Settings > Subscription. Your email address and existing data are retained on the free plan.

What happens to my emails and data when I cancel?

Your account switches to the free plan limits. If you downgraded from a plan with extra storage or aliases, you may need to reduce usage to fit free plan limits. Tuta will warn you if imported messages will be deleted during downgrade.

How do I cancel if I subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play?

If you subscribed via iOS, go to iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Tuta > Cancel Subscription. For Android, open Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Tuta: Encrypted Private Email > Cancel Subscription.

Log in to Tuta

Go to app.tuta.com and sign in with your Tuta email address and password.

Open Settings

Click on your account name or the Settings icon (gear) in the left sidebar navigation.

Navigate to Subscription

In Settings, select 'Subscription' or 'Account' to view your current plan details.

Click 'Terminate subscription'

Locate and click the 'Terminate subscription' option. This can also be accessed directly at app.tuta.com/?r=/termination.

Confirm termination

A confirmation prompt will appear. Review the details (access until end of billing period) and confirm the termination. Note: if downgrading to free, a pop-up warns that any imported messages will be deleted.

Check for confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email from Tutao GmbH. Your account reverts to the free plan at the end of the current billing cycle.
