Do I lose access to TestComplete immediately after cancelling?

No. Access continues through the end of your current paid billing period. After expiration, you cannot use TestComplete, receive updates, or get technical support. Your test scripts remain on your machine but cannot be opened or run without a valid license.

Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-subscription?

No. SmartBear's Terms of Use state that 'payment obligations are non-cancellable and fees paid are non-refundable.' EU customers may exit mid-term but owe an early termination fee equal to all remaining fees for the term.

How far in advance do I need to cancel to avoid auto-renewal?

You must provide written notice of non-renewal at least 60 days before your renewal date. Failure to do so results in automatic renewal at SmartBear's then-current prices. Contact your account manager well before this deadline.

Can I reactivate my TestComplete subscription after cancelling?

Yes. For self-service subscriptions, you can reactivate any time before the cancellation date takes effect by going to my.smartbear.com → Subscriptions, clicking the three-dot ellipsis menu next to the subscription, and selecting 'Reactivate'. For sales-managed accounts, contact your SmartBear account manager.

What happens to my license seats when I cancel?

All activated license seats become inactive at the end of the billing period. You should deactivate individual machine licenses beforehand via Help > 'Activate or Deactivate License' inside TestComplete, or through the license management page at my.smartbear.com.

Who do I contact if I cannot find a cancel option in my account?

If no cancel button appears, your subscription is sales-managed. Contact SmartBear Sales via the 'Contact Sales' button in SmartBear Admin, or reach out directly at https://smartbear.com/contact-us/ or by phone at +1 617-684-2600.

Log in to SmartBear Admin

Go to https://my.smartbear.com and sign in with your SmartBear account credentials.

Open the Subscriptions tab

Once logged in, click the 'Subscriptions' tab in the left navigation panel to see all your active subscriptions.

Select your TestComplete subscription

Find your TestComplete solution in the subscriptions list and click on it to open the subscription details.

Determine your subscription type

Check whether your subscription is 'Sales-Managed' or 'Self-Service'. Sales-managed subscriptions (most TestComplete customers) show a 'Contact Sales' button instead of a cancel option.

Contact Sales (sales-managed) or Cancel directly (self-service)

Sales-managed: Click the 'Contact Sales' button and request cancellation or non-renewal from your account manager. Self-service: Click 'Cancel Subscription' directly on the subscription details page.

Confirm cancellation

Self-service only: In the confirmation dialog that appears, click 'Confirm Changes' to finalize the cancellation. Sales-managed customers must coordinate via their account manager.

Send written non-renewal notice

For sales-managed accounts, send written notice of non-renewal to your account manager at least 60 days before your subscription renewal date to avoid automatic renewal at SmartBear's then-current pricing.
