Will I still have access to premium features after I cancel?

Yes. Your premium membership remains active through the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to a free (basic) plan.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Generally no — Care.com's policy states premium subscriptions are non-refundable. The exception is if you cancel within 30 days of being charged and have not used the subscription after the expiration of any free trial period. Contact careteam@care.com or call (877) 227-3115 to request a refund review.

How do I reactivate my subscription?

You can resubscribe at any time by going to Account Settings and selecting a paid plan. If you deleted your account entirely, you will need to create a brand-new account, as deletion is permanent and all data is removed.

What happens to my profile and data after I cancel?

Your profile and account data are retained on a free basic plan after cancellation. Reviews you have written remain visible publicly even if you later close your account. To have a review removed, contact Care.com support directly. To delete all personal data, you must separately close your account through Account Settings.

I subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play — how do I cancel?

You must cancel through the platform you used to subscribe. For iOS: open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Care.com → Cancel Subscription. For Android: open Google Play → Menu → Subscriptions → Care.com → Cancel Subscription. Cancelling on the Care.com website will not stop App Store or Play Store billing.

What if I was charged after I thought I cancelled?

Care.com has faced FTC enforcement (settled for $8.5M in 2024) over users being billed after cancellation. If this happens, contact careteam@care.com with proof of cancellation, or dispute the charge with your bank/card issuer. The FTC has distributed refunds to affected users in the past.

Log into Care.com

Go to care.com and sign in with your email and password.

Open Account Settings

Click the three-bar hamburger menu icon in the top-left corner of the page, then select 'Account Settings' from the dropdown.

Find Membership Information

Scroll down the Account Settings page to the 'Membership Information' section, where your current plan is listed.

Click Downgrade

Click the 'Downgrade' link next to your current Membership Plan. This initiates the cancellation/downgrade flow.

Click Continue to Cancel

On the next screen, click the 'Continue to Cancel' button. Care.com may display warnings about losing benefits and present a retention offer for a different (cheaper) membership — decline if you want to fully cancel.

Complete the cancellation survey

Fill out the short survey asking your reason for cancelling. This is required before proceeding. Care.com may show additional prompts or offers at this stage.

Confirm Cancellation

Click 'Confirm Cancellation' to finalize. You will see a confirmation screen and receive a confirmation email. Your premium access remains active until the end of the current billing cycle.
