Can I still access my boards after cancelling?

Yes, but all Storms (boards) become read-only immediately after cancellation. You retain a free personal account and can still log in. Storms with fewer than 5 users can be reopened on the free plan.

Will I get a refund after cancelling?

Annual plans offer no refunds for early termination — you pay through the full contract end date. Monthly plans apply a prorated charge for the current billing cycle; no further charges follow.

Can I reactivate my subscription later?

Yes. Your free account persists after cancellation. You can return and reactivate at any time. Note: reopening a Storm with 5 or more users will automatically restart billing.

Is my data deleted when I cancel?

No. Data is not automatically deleted — it remains read-only on the free tier. To permanently delete all data, go to stormboard.com/users/account and click 'Delete My Account' (top-right corner). You must cancel your paid subscription before deleting the account. Deletion is permanent and GDPR-compliant with no recovery option.

Who can cancel the subscription?

Only the Team Administrator can cancel. Regular team members do not have access to the billing section.

What happens if I don't cancel my free trial in time?

Stormboard sends reminder emails on day 27 and day 30 of the trial. If not cancelled by day 30, the account auto-converts to a paid subscription and the first charge arrives around day 60.

Log in as Team Administrator

Go to stormboard.com and sign in using the Team Administrator account. Regular team members cannot access billing settings. Use a desktop or laptop browser — mobile is not supported for this flow.

Open My Account

From the Dashboard, click 'My Account' in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Select your team

Under the 'My Teams' section, click on the team whose subscription you want to cancel.

Go to the Billing tab

Click the 'Billing' tab within the team settings page.

Click Cancel Subscription

Click the 'Cancel Subscription' button. A confirmation popup will appear showing how many Storms will become read-only, how many users will be notified, and your final bill amount.

Select a cancellation reason

Choose a reason for cancellation from the dropdown — this field is required before you can proceed.

Confirm the cancellation

Click 'Confirm Subscription Change' to finalize. Do not double-click this button — Stormboard warns this can cause duplicate charges. Your plan will downgrade to the free tier immediately.
