Can I use the free tier?

GitHub offers Copilot Free with limited completions. You automatically fall back to this after cancelling.

What about organization-managed Copilot?

If your organization pays for Copilot, you cannot cancel individually. Contact your org admin.

Go to github.com and sign in to your account.

Go to Billing settings

Click your profile photo, then Settings, then 'Billing and plans'.

Navigate to Copilot

Under plans, find your GitHub Copilot subscription.

Click Cancel

Click 'Cancel' or 'Edit' next to the Copilot plan and select cancellation.

Confirm cancellation

Confirm the cancellation. Copilot suggestions stop at the end of the billing period.
