Will I lose access to my mind maps immediately after cancelling?

No. Your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account downgrades to the free Basic plan, which allows only 3 team maps. Private maps (in 'My Maps') become greyed out and inaccessible — you can regain access by converting them to team maps or by reactivating a paid plan.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Refunds are only available within 14 days of the original purchase or upgrade. For annual plans that auto-renewed, MindMeister may refund 11 of the 12 months if you cancel immediately after renewal. There is no self-serve refund — you must contact Meister Support by email. User reviews suggest the refund process can be slow or unresponsive.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. Go to Account > Plans at meister.co and upgrade to any paid plan at any time. All your previously locked maps will become accessible again immediately upon reactivation.

Can I delete my account right away?

Not while on a paid plan — you must wait for the billing period to expire first. Once your account has downgraded to Basic, you can delete it by scrolling to the bottom of the Plans page and clicking 'Close Account'. Alternatively, contact Meister Support to request immediate deletion before the period ends.

What if I subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?

MindMeister cannot cancel or refund mobile subscriptions. You must cancel through iPhone Settings > Subscriptions > MindMeister, or through Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > MindMeister. Refund requests must also go through Apple or Google directly.

How can I stop auto-renewal without cancelling immediately?

In your account settings under Plans, there is a separate option to 'Disable Auto-Renewal'. This prevents future charges while keeping your current paid subscription active until it naturally expires at the end of the billing period.

Log in and open Account settings

Go to meister.co and log in. Click your profile avatar in the upper-right corner, then select 'Account' from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to Plans

In the left sidebar of your account settings, click 'Plans' to view your current subscription details.

Click 'Cancel Subscription'

Find your active subscription and click the 'Cancel Subscription' button to begin the cancellation flow.

Acknowledge cancellation effects

A dialog appears listing the effects of cancellation (loss of features, map access limits). Check the checkbox to confirm you agree to all cancellation effects. The 'Continue to Cancel' button will only become active after checking the box.

Select a cancellation reason

A feedback form appears asking why you are cancelling. Select a reason from the options provided (and a sub-option if prompted). This step is mandatory before you can proceed.

Confirm cancellation

Click 'Continue to Cancel' a second time to finalize the cancellation. You will see a confirmation screen. Your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which the account automatically downgrades to the free Basic plan.
