Do I lose access immediately after cancelling?

No. After you cancel, your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. Your space then automatically downgrades to the free Starter plan (1 space, up to 2 seats, 25k AI credits, 100k API requests/month). You do not lose your account or data immediately.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

No. Storyblok explicitly states they do not refund subscriptions. The only exception is if Storyblok itself causes a material breach, in which case a pro-rata monthly refund for unused prepaid fees may apply. If you downgrade from annual to monthly billing, unused time becomes a Stripe credit balance applied to future invoices — not a cash refund.

How do I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Since your account downgrades to the free Starter plan rather than being deleted, you can re-subscribe at any time by going to Settings → Subscription and choosing a new plan. No special reactivation process is required.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Storyblok retains your content for up to 90 days after termination. After that, data may be permanently deleted. If you want to fully delete your account (not just cancel the subscription), cancel first, then go to My Account → Account Settings → Danger zone → 'Permanently delete my account'.

How far in advance do I need to cancel to avoid being charged again?

You must cancel at least 30 days before your renewal date per Storyblok's Terms of Service. If you cancel after that window, you will be auto-renewed for another full billing cycle and will not receive a refund.

Who can cancel the subscription?

Only the space owner or a collaborator with billing permissions can cancel. If you are not the owner, you will not see the 'Billing preferences / Invoices' button in the Subscription settings.

Log in to Storyblok

Go to app.storyblok.com and log in to the account that owns the subscription.

Open your space Settings

In the left sidebar, click 'Settings' for the space whose subscription you want to cancel.

Go to the Subscription tab

Inside Settings, click the 'Subscription' tab to view your current plan details.

Open Billing preferences

Click the 'Billing preferences / Invoices' button. This redirects you to Storyblok's Stripe-hosted customer portal in a new page.

Cancel your plan in Stripe

In the Stripe billing portal, click 'Cancel plan'. Confirm the cancellation when prompted. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
