Will I be charged after I delete my deployment?

No. Billing stops immediately when the deployment is deleted, rounded up to the nearest hour. Any usage accrued before deletion will still appear on your next monthly bill (issued on the 1st of the month).

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Elastic's charges are generally non-refundable. For special circumstances, open a support case at https://cloud.elastic.co and select the 'Billing issue' category with a detailed explanation.

What happens to my data when I delete my deployment?

All data on disk, including snapshots, is permanently erased upon deletion. To preserve data, set up a custom snapshot repository (e.g., AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob Storage) before deleting — those snapshots reside in your own storage and survive deployment deletion.

Can I reactivate my Elastic Cloud account after cancelling?

Yes. Deleting deployments does not close your account. You can log back in and create new deployments at any time with no reactivation fee or penalty.

I'm on an annual contract — can I cancel early?

Annual and prepaid contract subscriptions cannot be cancelled through the self-service console. You must contact your Elastic sales representative to discuss early termination options.

Does deleting my last deployment also delete my account?

No. Your account remains active with zero charges after all deployments are removed. To fully delete the account and request data erasure under GDPR/privacy rights, you must contact Elastic support directly.

Log in to Elastic Cloud Console

Go to https://cloud.elastic.co and sign in with your Elastic Cloud account credentials.

Open your deployment

On the main dashboard, locate your deployment under the 'Deployments' section. Click on the deployment name to open its overview page.

Open the Actions menu

On the deployment overview page, click the 'Actions' dropdown button in the top-right area of the deployment card.

Select 'Delete deployment'

From the Actions dropdown, click 'Delete deployment'. For Serverless projects, navigate to the Serverless Projects section, click 'Manage' on your project, then Actions → 'Delete project'.

Confirm deletion

A confirmation dialog will appear warning that all data will be permanently erased. Type the confirmation text as prompted and click the confirm button to proceed. Billing stops immediately upon deletion, rounded up to the nearest hour.

Repeat for all deployments

If you have multiple deployments or serverless projects, repeat steps 2–5 for each one. You will only stop being billed once all deployments are deleted.

(Optional) Request full account closure

Deleting deployments stops all charges but leaves the account open. To fully close your account and request data erasure, contact Elastic support at https://cloud.elastic.co using the 'Billing issue' support category, or email ar@elastic.co.
