Can I recover my phone number after cancelling?

No. Once cancelled without MNP transfer, your number enters a holding pool and is eventually reassigned. It cannot be restored to you under any circumstances.

Is there a refund for the unused portion of the month?

No. ahamo does not prorate billing. The full month's charge applies regardless of what day you cancel. To get the most value, cancel at the very end of your billing month.

Can I re-subscribe to ahamo after cancelling?

Yes. You can re-subscribe as a new customer following the same sign-up process. You will receive a new, randomly assigned phone number.

What happens to my dPoints after cancelling?

Your dPoints remain in your dAccount and remain accessible. The dAccount itself is not deleted when you cancel your ahamo line.

What if I want to keep my phone number and switch to another carrier?

Use MNP (Mobile Number Portability). Either use the one-stop MNP method directly through your new carrier (supported by most major Japanese carriers), or obtain an MNP reservation number (MNP予約番号) from the ahamo Procedures Page and provide it to your new carrier. There is no MNP transfer fee.

Are there situations where I cannot cancel online?

Yes. If your SIM is lost/stolen, your eSIM profile was deleted, your device cannot authenticate via SMS or passkey, or your line is set as the primary/representative line for a group billing account, you must cancel by postal mail using the form at https://ahamo.com/assets/documents/contract_cancell.pdf or resolve the blocking condition first.

Before starting, connect your device to Wi-Fi. Your cellular connection will be cut immediately upon cancellation, so you need Wi-Fi to see the confirmation screen.

Go to the ahamo Procedures Page

Open your browser and navigate to https://application.ald.smt.docomo.ne.jp/ (the 'ahamoお手続きページ' / ahamo Procedures Page).

Log in with your dAccount

Open Procedures menu

Tap 「お手続き」 (Procedures) in the main navigation menu.

Select Line Cancellation

Select 「回線の解約」 (Line Cancellation) from the list of available procedures.

Read and agree to notices

Read all displayed warnings carefully — including that your phone number will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered, and that the full month's charge applies regardless of cancellation date. Tap 「同意した上で解約のお手続きへ進む」 (Agree and proceed to cancellation).

Complete re-authentication if prompted

You may be asked to authenticate again with your passkey or biometric. Complete the authentication step.

Confirm cancellation

Tap 「このお手続きを完了する」 (Complete this procedure) to finalize the cancellation. Your line is cancelled immediately.
