Can I still access my passwords after canceling?

Yes. Your account stays fully active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account is frozen — you can still sign in to 1Password.com or the apps to view and export your data, but you cannot add or edit items. Your data is preserved if you decide to reactivate later.

Will I get a refund when I cancel?

No. 1Password does not issue refunds for paid subscription charges. If you cancel during a free trial, you won't be charged. For paid plans, the policy states: 'We're unable to issue refunds for past charges or for any time remaining on your account at the time of cancellation.'

How do I reactivate my subscription after canceling?

You can reactivate at any time by signing back into 1Password.com and selecting a plan on the Billing page. All your stored vault data is preserved during the frozen period, so nothing is lost.

What if I subscribed through the App Store or Google Play?

If you purchased 1Password via an in-app purchase on iPhone/iPad/Mac, you must cancel through Apple: go to iOS/macOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → 1Password → Cancel Subscription. For Android, cancel via Google Play → Subscriptions. You cannot cancel App Store/Google Play subscriptions from the 1Password website.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. All contact and payment information is immediately erased, and you cannot sign back in or recover any data. Canceling (not deleting) your subscription is the safer option if you may want to return — your data remains stored.

What if I don't see the Billing option in my sidebar?

If your last payment failed, the Billing option may not appear. Add a valid payment method first to restore access to Billing settings, then proceed with cancellation. Alternatively, contact 1Password support directly for assistance.

Sign in to 1Password.com

Open your browser and go to 1Password.com. Click 'Sign In' and enter your email address, Master Password, and Secret Key to access your account.

Open Billing settings

In the left sidebar of your account dashboard, click 'Billing'. This takes you directly to your subscription and payment details. If you don't see a Billing option, your subscription may be managed through Apple or Google (see FAQ).

Scroll to find Cancel subscription

On the Billing page, scroll down past your plan details and payment method. Locate the 'Cancel subscription' button near the bottom of the page.

Click 'Cancel subscription'

Click the 'Cancel subscription' button and follow the on-screen confirmation prompts. 1Password will ask you to confirm your decision before finalizing the cancellation.

Export your data (recommended)

Before your account is frozen at the end of the billing period, go to your vault, click your account name, select 'Export', and download your data as a 1PUX or CSV file to keep an offline copy of your passwords.
