Can I get a refund after cancelling?

No. Klaviyo does not issue prorated refunds for the remainder of a billing cycle, regardless of whether you cancel immediately or at the end of the cycle. Billing disputes can be submitted via Support, but refunds for inactivity are explicitly against their Terms of Service.

What happens to my data and access after I cancel?

If you cancel at the end of the billing cycle, campaigns and flows continue to send until that date. After the plan expires, you lose access to paid features but can still log in to export data. Your contacts and history remain stored unless you choose to close and delete the account.

Can I reactivate or downgrade to the free plan instead of cancelling entirely?

Yes. After cancelling all paid plans, go to Billing > Preferences tab, scroll to 'Reactivate your account', and click 'Reactivate to free'. The free tier includes up to 250 contacts and 500 emails per month. Your historical data and settings are preserved.

What happens to my flows and automations when I cancel immediately?

All active flows immediately enter draft mode and stop sending. Any flows containing SMS messages are completely disabled. If you cancel at end of cycle, flows continue running until the last day of the billing period.

How do I permanently delete my account and all data?

During or after cancellation, select the 'Close and delete account' option. This permanently deletes all contacts, campaigns, flows, templates, and analytics — the process is irreversible. Only the account Owner (not Admins) can initiate full account closure. Export all data before proceeding.

What if I can't find the 'Cancel Plan' button?

Only account Owners and Admins can see billing options. If you are a regular team member, you won't have access. Additionally, accounts on manual billing or multi-month contracts do not have a self-serve cancel option — those users must contact Klaviyo Support directly and request cancellation through a billing dispute or account closure form.

Log in and open Billing

Log in to your Klaviyo account. Click your account name in the bottom-left corner to open the account menu, then select 'Billing'.

Click 'Cancel Plan'

On the Billing page, click the 'Cancel Plan' button. Note: only account Owners and Admins can access billing settings. If you are on a manually billed plan or have a contract longer than one month, you must contact Klaviyo Support instead.

Select plans to cancel

Choose which plan(s) to cancel. To stop all billing entirely, select 'Cancel all plans'. Click 'Continue'.

Select a cancellation reason

Select one or more reasons for cancellation from the provided list, then click 'Continue'.

Choose cancellation timing

Select either 'At the end of the billing cycle' (recommended — campaigns and flows continue sending until the last day of the cycle, no refund issued) or 'Immediately' (flows enter draft mode and stop sending right away, no refund issued).

Confirm by entering account name

Type your Klaviyo account name exactly as prompted to confirm the cancellation.

Click 'Cancel Plan' then 'Exit'

Click the 'Cancel Plan' button to finalize. Then click 'Exit'. Your subscription is now cancelled.

(Optional) Reactivate to free tier or close account

To stay on Klaviyo's free tier (up to 250 contacts, 500 emails/month): go to Billing > Preferences tab, scroll to 'Reactivate your account', and click 'Reactivate to free'. To permanently delete all data, tick 'Close and delete account' — this is irreversible and removes all contacts, campaigns, flows, and templates.
