Will I still have access to Gem after I cancel?

Yes — your account remains active through the end of your paid subscription term. Access is not cut off immediately upon sending the cancellation notice; it ends when the current term expires.

Can I get a refund after canceling?

Generally no. Gem's Terms of Service state that fees paid for the then-current payment term are non-refundable. The only exception is if Gem itself commits a material breach, in which case they must refund prepaid but unused fees for the remaining term.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

After the subscription expires or is terminated, Gem has no obligation to maintain your Customer Data and may delete it according to their standard procedures. Export all necessary data before your account closes. Note that Gem's privacy policy states they retain personal data for 7 years after account closure for legal compliance purposes.

How far in advance do I need to cancel to avoid being charged for another year?

You must provide written notice (email is acceptable) at least 30 days before the end of your current subscription term. Missing this window results in automatic renewal for another full term at the then-current rates.

Can I reactivate my Gem account after canceling?

Yes — contact Gem's sales team (via gem.com/contact or your former CSM) to discuss reactivating. A new subscription agreement would need to be signed. Historical data may or may not be recoverable depending on how long after termination you reactivate.

What if Gem raises prices at renewal — can I cancel without penalty?

Yes. Under Gem's Terms of Service, if Gem increases fees for a subsequent payment term, you have the right to cancel the Services for that upcoming term rather than accepting the new pricing, with no early termination penalty.

Check your contract end date

Log in to your Gem account and locate your subscription term end date. Check your original order confirmation email or ask your Gem Customer Success Manager. You must send cancellation notice at least 30 days before this date to prevent auto-renewal.

Export your data

Before canceling, export any candidate data, sequences, analytics, or reports you need. Navigate to your Gem dashboard and download relevant reports, since Gem may delete Customer Data after account termination.

Send written cancellation notice by email

Email your dedicated Gem Customer Success Manager (CSM) or send to support@gem.com with a clear written statement that you do not wish to renew your subscription. Email is explicitly permitted as written notice under Gem's Enterprise MSA. Include your company name, account name, and the desired cancellation/non-renewal date.

Request written confirmation

Ask Gem to reply confirming receipt of your cancellation notice and the effective termination date. Keep this confirmation for your records to prove timely notice was given before the 30-day deadline.

Verify no further charges

After confirmation, check that no renewal invoice is generated. If a renewal charge appears despite timely notice, dispute it referencing your cancellation email and Gem's written confirmation.
