Do I keep access after canceling?

Yes, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. After that, the account is suspended for 24 hours, then all data is permanently deleted 14 days after the subscription end date.

Freshdesk does not publicly document a refund policy. Annual plans are non-refundable mid-term and cancellation takes effect at the next renewal date. Monthly plans stop billing at the end of the current period. Contact billing@freshworks.com for refund inquiries.

Can I reactivate my account after canceling?

Yes, but only within 14 days of cancellation. Contact support@freshdesk.com to request reactivation before the permanent deletion window closes.

What happens to my data?

Freshdesk permanently deletes your account and all account data 14 days after your subscription end date. Export all tickets, contacts, and knowledge base content before canceling, as exports can take up to 10 business days.

Is there a free plan I can downgrade to instead of canceling?

Yes. Go to Admin > Account > Plans and Billing, click 'Switch plan', then select 'Try out our free Program'. The Free plan supports up to 10 agents with email ticketing, a knowledge base, and mobile app access. Ticket history is preserved on downgrade, but SLA management, automations, custom fields, and CSAT surveys are lost.

Who can cancel a Freshdesk account?

Only the Account Administrator can request cancellation. If you are not the account admin, you will not see the 'Cancel account' button in Account Details.

Export your data

Before canceling, go to Admin > Account > Helpdesk > Data Export and click 'Export Now' to download tickets as CSV. Also export contacts via Admin > Contacts > Export. Note: exports can take up to 10 business days to complete.

Open Admin Settings

Log in as an Account Administrator. Click the gear icon in the left navigation panel to open Admin settings. Only Account Administrators can initiate cancellation.

Navigate to Account Details

In the Admin panel, go to Account > Account Details. This section contains the account status controls.

Click 'Cancel account'

Under the Account Status section, click the 'Cancel account' button. If this option is not visible, you may need to email billing@freshworks.com with your account URL, company name, and cancellation request.

Select a cancellation reason

On the next page, select a reason for canceling your Freshdesk account from the provided options.

Submit the request

Click 'Request cancellation' and confirm in the pop-up window. Freshdesk will then reach out to you before processing the cancellation.

Await confirmation

Freshdesk will contact you to 'support you with your cancellation request' before finalizing. Once processed, your account is suspended and data is permanently deleted 14 days after your subscription end date.
