Will I lose access to Intercom immediately after cancelling?

No. You retain full access to your Intercom workspace until the end of your current billing period (monthly or annual). After that date, access is suspended.

Can I get a refund if I cancel an annual plan early?

No. Annual subscriptions are paid upfront to receive a discount and are non-refundable. The plan remains active until the end of the 12-month term with no prorated refund for unused months.

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Intercom does not delete your data upon cancellation. However, you will lose access to it once your subscription expires. If you resubscribe, your data becomes accessible again.

What happens to my Help Center and outbound messages when I cancel?

Features like outbound messaging and your Help Center are automatically paused when your subscription becomes inactive. They can be restored if you resubscribe.

Can I reactivate my subscription after cancelling?

Yes. You can restart your plan at any time from the Billing settings. Your previous data and configuration will be restored upon reactivation.

What if I am on a contract with Intercom?

If you are on a contracted plan, you cannot cancel via the self-service billing page. You must contact your dedicated Intercom Account Manager directly to discuss pausing or cancelling your contract.

Log in to your Intercom workspace

Go to app.intercom.com and sign in with your Intercom account credentials.

Open Settings

Click the Settings gear icon in the bottom-left navigation sidebar of your Intercom workspace.

Navigate to Subscription & Billing

In the Settings menu, click on 'Subscription' and then select 'Billing'.

Open Payment details

At the top of the Billing page, click the 'Payment details' tab.

Click 'Cancel subscription'

Scroll to the bottom of the Payment details page and click the 'Cancel subscription' link or button.

Provide cancellation reason

Intercom will prompt you to select a reason for cancelling and may offer alternatives (e.g., pausing). Complete the feedback form as required.

Confirm cancellation

Review the confirmation screen showing your access end date, then click 'Confirm cancellation' to finalise. A confirmation email will be sent to your account email address.
