What happens to my data when I cancel?

Cancelling your usage-based InfluxDB Cloud plan permanently deletes your entire organization and all associated data. There is no recovery after cancellation, so you must export any data you need before completing the cancellation process.

Will I be charged after cancelling?

No ongoing charges occur after cancellation, but your payment method is charged your final usage balance immediately upon cancellation of service — not at the end of the month. Make sure to stop all reads and writes before cancelling to minimize this final charge.

Can I reactivate my account after cancelling?

No. Cancellation deletes your organization permanently. To use InfluxDB Cloud again you would need to create a new account and organization from scratch. Data from the cancelled account cannot be restored.

How do I cancel if I subscribed through AWS or GCP Marketplace?

Go to Billing in your InfluxDB Cloud UI, click the 'AWS' or 'GCP' link (depending on your subscription), click 'Unsubscribe', and then confirm with 'Yes, cancel subscription'. The cancellation is processed through the marketplace rather than directly through InfluxData.

Can I cancel a Free Plan account?

Free Plan accounts are not charged and do not have a 'Cancel Service' billing flow. To fully remove a Free Plan account or organization, contact InfluxData Support at support@influxdata.com.

How do I export my data before cancelling?

Export Dashboards and Tasks using the built-in export buttons in the UI. Download Telegraf configurations via Load Data → Telegraf tab → Download Config. For raw time-series data, query it in time-based batches using the Flux or InfluxQL query APIs and write it to a local InfluxDB OSS instance or another storage system.

Back up your data

Before cancelling, export any data you want to keep. Export Tasks and Dashboards using the built-in export features. For Telegraf configs, go to Load Data → Telegraf tab → select your config → click 'Download Config'. Query and export raw time-series data in time-based batches if needed.

Stop all reads and writes

Pause or stop all applications, agents, and scripts that write to or query your InfluxDB Cloud instance. This prevents additional usage charges from accumulating before cancellation is complete.

Open Billing settings

Log in to InfluxDB Cloud at cloud2.influxdata.com. Click your account name in the top-right header of the UI, then select 'Billing' from the dropdown menu.

Initiate cancellation (direct subscribers)

If you subscribed directly through InfluxData, click the 'Cancel Service' button on the Billing page. If you subscribed via AWS Marketplace, click the 'AWS' link then click 'Unsubscribe'. If via GCP Marketplace, click the 'GCP' link then click 'Unsubscribe'.

Acknowledge the conditions

For direct InfluxData subscribers: check the checkbox labeled 'I understand and agree to these conditions' to confirm you understand that cancelling will permanently delete your organization and all its data.

Confirm cancellation

Click 'I understand, Cancel Service', then click 'Confirm and Cancel Service' on the final confirmation dialog. For AWS/GCP Marketplace subscribers, click 'Yes, cancel subscription' when prompted.
