No. Canceling (opting out of auto-renewal) means your access continues until the end of your current paid subscription term. You are not cut off immediately.

Can I get a refund after canceling?

Tableau does not offer pro-rated refunds for subscription terms. Cancellation only prevents the next renewal charge; the current period is non-refundable. For billing disputes, contact customerservice@tableau.com.

What happens to my data and workbooks after my subscription ends?

After your subscription expires, you lose access to Tableau software and Tableau Cloud. It is recommended to export or download your workbooks (.twbx files) and data before your subscription ends.

Can I reactivate my Tableau subscription after canceling?

Yes. You can reactivate by purchasing a new subscription through tableau.com or by contacting your Tableau Account Manager. Your previous workbooks may still be accessible if you re-subscribe to the same Tableau Cloud site within the data-retention window.

How do I cancel if I bought through a reseller or partner?

If your Tableau license was purchased through a reseller or Salesforce partner, you must contact that partner directly to manage renewal and cancellation — the Tableau Customer Portal may not have a self-serve opt-out available for partner-purchased licenses.

Log in to Tableau Customer Portal

Go to customer.tableau.com and sign in with your Tableau account credentials. If prompted, select 'Customer Portal' on the Tableau login page.

Navigate to 'My Invoices'

Once logged in to the Customer Portal, click on the 'My Invoices' section in the left navigation menu. This is where auto-renewal settings are managed.

Locate your active subscription

Find your active subscription/order in the invoices list. Note your seven-digit order number (also found on your itemized purchase report email).

Opt out of Auto-Renewal

On the 'My Invoices' page, locate the auto-renewal toggle or opt-out option next to your subscription. Click to disable auto-renewal. This must be done at least 7 days before your renewal date.

Confirm opt-out

Confirm the opt-out when prompted. You will receive a confirmation and Tableau will begin sending manual renewal email reminders ahead of your contract end date instead.

If you cannot find the opt-out option in the portal, email customerservice@tableau.com with your primary contact email address and your seven-digit order number. Request cancellation of auto-renewal or full cancellation in writing.
