Is Affinity Publisher, Designer, and Photo a subscription or one-time purchase?

Affinity offers both options. V2 perpetual licenses are a one-time purchase (~$69.99 per app) with no subscription required. An Affinity subscription is also available. Perpetual licenses never expire.

What happened to Affinity after Canva acquired it?

Canva acquired Affinity in 2024. Since then, Affinity apps have been made free to Canva subscribers. Existing perpetual license holders keep their licenses. New pricing and subscription models are handled through Canva account management.

Do I lose access to Affinity apps immediately after cancelling?

If you have a subscription, access ends at the subscription period end date. If you have a perpetual V1 or V2 license, you never lose access — the license is permanent and not tied to any subscription.

Go to Affinity Account

Visit affinity.serif.com and sign in to your Affinity account.

Open Subscriptions

Navigate to 'My Account' > 'Subscriptions' to view your current Affinity subscription (if on the V2 subscription plan).

Cancel Subscription

Click 'Cancel subscription' next to your Affinity plan. Note that Affinity also sells perpetual (one-time) licenses — if you have a perpetual license, there is nothing to cancel.

Confirm Cancellation

Confirm the cancellation in the dialog box. If you have a Canva-era subscription (Canva acquired Affinity in 2024), you may be redirected to Canva account management.

Retain Access to Perpetual Features

Affinity V1 licenses are perpetual and never expire. V2 perpetual licenses also never expire. Only the Affinity subscription model requires cancellation — confirm which type you have before proceeding.
