What happens to my team members' passwords after cancellation?

When the Business plan ends, each member's account converts to a personal Premium account for 40 days. After those 40 days, accounts become read-only — members can still log in and export passwords to CSV, but cannot add, edit, copy, or view them within Dashlane.

Do members lose access to Business Space passwords immediately?

If Smart Space Management was enabled by the admin, members lose access to all logins and Secure Notes stored in the Business Space when the plan ends. Items in their Personal Space are retained. If Spaces were not in use, members lose access to all shared logins.

Can I get a refund after cancelling the Business plan?

Dashlane's standard 30-day refund policy applies primarily to personal plans. Business plan refunds are governed by the Business Terms and Conditions and are generally not offered for the unused portion of the billing period. Contact Dashlane support promptly if you believe you qualify.

When does the cancellation take effect?

Cancellation stops auto-renewal immediately, but your Business plan remains fully active until the end of the current billing period. Members retain full access until that date.

Can I reactivate the Business plan after cancelling?

Yes. If you cancelled by mistake or change your mind before the billing period ends, you can go back into the Admin Console and renew your subscription. After the plan expires, you can purchase a new Business plan through the Dashlane website.

Should members export their data before the plan ends?

Yes. Admins should notify members to export their passwords to a CSV file before the plan's expiration date. After the 40-day grace period on the free tier, passwords become export-only and cannot be viewed or used normally without upgrading to a paid personal plan.

Open the Admin Console

Click the Dashlane 'D' icon in your browser toolbar to open the Dashlane Smart Extension pop-up. Select 'More', then click 'Open the Admin Console'. Alternatively, go to app.dashlane.com and navigate to the Admin Console from your account menu.

Go to Account Summary

In the Admin Console, click the 'Admin Console' menu in the top-left corner of the page, then select 'Account summary' from the dropdown.

Initiate Cancellation Request

On the Account summary page, click 'Request cancellation'. This opens the cancellation flow.

Select a Cancellation Reason

Choose a reason for cancelling from the list provided (e.g. too expensive, switching products, no longer needed, etc.).

Confirm the Request

Click 'Confirm request' to finalize the cancellation. Auto-renewal will be disabled and your plan will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

Close Confirmation

Click 'Close' to dismiss the confirmation dialog. You will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation request.
