Can I cancel FullStory without contacting anyone?

Self-service cancellation options are very limited. For most paid plans, you must use the 'Adjust Plan' option in Settings > Account Management > Subscription, which routes you to contact your Account Executive or support team. The FullstoryFree (free) plan can be kept indefinitely with no charge. If you want full account deletion, email support@fullstory.com.

Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-contract?

FullStory's paid plans are typically annual contracts. Most contracts do not allow early termination without penalty, and standard refunds for unused months are not offered. The exception is if FullStory's service availability drops below 90% in a given month — in that case, you may terminate without penalty and receive a pro-rata refund of prepaid unused fees within 30 days of that month's end.

What happens to my data after I cancel?

After cancellation, FullStory retains your session replay data and analytics for up to 6 months. If you reactivate your account during that window, your data remains accessible within your plan's original retention period. If you want your data deleted immediately upon cancellation (e.g., for GDPR compliance), you must email support@fullstory.com to make that request explicitly.

Can I reactivate my FullStory account after cancelling?

Yes. If you cancel within the 6-month post-cancellation data retention window, reactivating your account restores access to your existing session replays and analytics data. After 6 months, data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

What is FullstoryFree and can I downgrade to it instead of cancelling?

FullstoryFree is a permanent free tier offering 30,000 sessions/month, 12 months of data retention, and up to 10 users — no credit card required. You can request a downgrade to this plan instead of full cancellation. Be aware that downgrading from a paid plan may result in loss of some settings and historical data beyond the free plan's retention limits.

How do I fully delete my FullStory account?

Full account deletion is not available as a self-service action. You must contact FullStory support by emailing support@fullstory.com and explicitly requesting account deletion. The support team will process the request and confirm once the account and associated data have been removed.

Log in to FullStory

Go to app.fullstory.com and sign in with your account credentials.

Open Settings

Click the gear icon or your account avatar in the bottom-left corner to open Settings.

Navigate to Account Management > Subscription

In the Settings menu, select 'Account Management', then click on 'Subscription' to view your current plan and billing details.

Click 'Adjust Plan'

On the Subscription page, click the 'Adjust plan' button. This opens a contact form or drop-down to send a message to the FullStory team about changing your plan.

Request cancellation or downgrade

Select your reason and submit the request to cancel or downgrade to the free FullstoryFree plan. For self-serve Business plan accounts, you may be able to complete this in the UI. For Advanced and Enterprise accounts on annual contracts, FullStory will route you to your Account Executive to process the cancellation.

Confirm cancellation with your Account Executive (paid plans)

If on a paid annual contract, expect a follow-up from your assigned Account Executive. They may present a retention offer or alternative plan. Confirm your intent to cancel in writing. Alternatively, email support@fullstory.com directly to initiate the cancellation request.

Receive confirmation

FullStory will confirm the cancellation by email. Your account will revert to the free FullstoryFree tier or close entirely at the end of the billing period. Recorded session data remains accessible for up to 6 months after cancellation.
