Locate your membership details

Find your AA membership number, which appears on your physical or digital AA membership card. You can also access it by logging into MyAA at aa.co.nz/membership/my-aa/ using your registered email and password.

Call the AA Customer Contact Centre

Phone 0800 500 444 (free within NZ) or +64 9 966 8688 if calling from overseas. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm. Cancellation cannot be completed online — phone is required.

Request membership cancellation

Tell the representative you wish to cancel your AA membership. Provide your membership number and verify your identity (name, address, date of birth). Clearly state you want to cancel — not pause, resign, or downgrade.

Decline retention offers

The agent may offer to resign your membership (suspend it for up to 5 years for $20/year, retaining your loyalty discounts and history) or downgrade to a cheaper tier. If you want a full cancellation, decline these offers and confirm you want the membership terminated.

Confirm cancellation and end date

Ask the agent to confirm your membership end date, whether any pro-rata refund applies, and that automatic renewal has been stopped. Note down the cancellation reference number or agent name for your records.

Check for confirmation

AA will typically send a confirmation to your registered email address. If you don't receive one within 2 business days, follow up by calling 0800 500 444 again.
