Will I lose access immediately after cancelling?

No. Your Business subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. All workspace members continue to have access to paid features until that date.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

No. Otter.ai's Terms of Service state that all fees are non-refundable. There are no partial refunds for unused time in a billing cycle.

What happens to my conversations and data after cancellation?

Conversations are not deleted. However, on the free Basic plan you can only access the 25 most recent conversations — older ones are preserved but hidden until you resubscribe. You must explicitly delete your account if you want data removed.

Can I reactivate my Business subscription after cancelling?

Yes. You can reactivate before your billing period ends via Account Settings > Plan. After it expires, you can resubscribe at any time and all previous conversations and data will be restored.

Can I cancel through the mobile app?

Only if the subscription was purchased via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — cancel through those platforms. If billed directly by Otter.ai, cancellation must be done on the desktop website.

Who can cancel a Business subscription?

Only the workspace owner or an admin can cancel. Regular workspace members do not have access to the Plan settings or the Cancel Plan button.

Sign in as workspace admin

Go to otter.ai and sign in. You must be logged in as the workspace owner or admin — regular members cannot cancel a Business subscription.

Open Account Settings

Click your profile icon in the left navigation menu, then select 'Account Settings' from the dropdown.

Navigate to the Plan tab

In Account Settings, click the 'Plan' tab at the top of the settings page.

Click 'Cancel Plan'

Scroll to the bottom of the Plan page, past the Payment History section, and click the 'Cancel Plan' button.

Review cancellation details

A pop-up appears showing the effects of cancellation (access end date, feature loss). Review the information. A 'Pause Plan' option may be presented here as a retention alternative — click through if you wish to proceed with full cancellation.

Submit feedback (optional)

Otter.ai may ask for a cancellation reason. Selecting a reason is optional friction — fill it in or skip it.

Confirm cancellation

Click 'Cancel Subscription' to confirm. You will see a confirmation message on screen and receive a confirmation email. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
