What happens to my data after I cancel?

Your data remains accessible on the free tier, but you will be subject to free-tier usage limits (e.g., only the most recent events are retained). If usage exceeds the free tier limits, older data may no longer be queryable.

Will I get a refund after canceling?

PostHog generally does not issue refunds for missed cancellation deadlines. Refunds are considered case-by-case for circumstances like service interruptions or charges on an unused account. Contact support at posthog.com/support to request one.

Can I reactivate my paid plan after canceling?

Yes. You can re-subscribe to any paid product at any time from the Billing page in your PostHog organization settings. Your historical data and configuration are preserved.

Do I need to cancel all products separately?

Yes. PostHog bills each product (Analytics, Session Replay, Feature Flags, Surveys, etc.) independently. You need to unsubscribe from each paid product separately, or cancel the entire Stripe subscription to stop all charges at once.

Can I delete my PostHog account entirely?

Account/organization deletion is not self-serve via the UI. You need to contact PostHog support to request full account and data deletion.

Is there a minimum contract period or cancellation fee?

PostHog's standard cloud plans are month-to-month with no cancellation fees. Enterprise contracts may have different terms. Cancel at any time with no penalty on standard plans.

Log in to PostHog

Go to app.posthog.com and sign in to your account with your credentials.

Open the Billing page

Click your organization name or account dropdown in the top-right corner of the navigation bar and select 'Billing' from the menu.

Review active paid products

On the Billing page, you will see each PostHog product (Analytics, Session Replay, Feature Flags, etc.) listed with its current usage and plan. Each product is billed independently.

Remove paid add-ons per product

For each product you no longer want to pay for, click the 'Unsubscribe' or plan toggle button next to it. PostHog bills on a per-product basis, so you can disable paid tiers individually and drop back to the free tier for each one.

Manage payment method via Stripe (optional)

To fully remove your payment method or cancel at the Stripe level, click 'Manage card details and view past invoices' on the Billing page. This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel the subscription outright and remove your card.

Confirm cancellation

In the Stripe portal, locate your PostHog subscription, click the three-dot menu or 'Cancel plan', and confirm. The cancellation takes effect immediately and your account reverts to the free tier.
