Do I lose access immediately after cancelling?

No. For Remote Recruit and Remote Perform add-on plans, access continues through the end of the current billing period. For EOR/payroll contracts, access continues through the 30-day notice period and until all employee offboarding is finalized.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

There are no pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods. However, new EOR customers benefit from a 90-day satisfaction guarantee — if you cancel within the first 90 days, Remote will refund all management fees. Security deposits paid for EOR services are refunded approximately 50 days after all final invoices are settled.

Can I reactivate my account after cancelling?

Yes. For Recruit and Perform plans, you can re-subscribe at any time by returning to Company Settings → Pricing & Plans. For EOR or contractor services, you would need to restart the onboarding process and sign a new service agreement.

What happens to my employee and payroll data after cancellation?

Data is retained as long as required by legal or contractual obligations, which varies by country. You can submit a data deletion request to privacy@remote.com. Remote is GDPR-compliant and responds to deletion requests within one month. Backup copies are securely isolated until permanent deletion can be completed.

Do I need to offboard all employees before cancelling the EOR contract?

Yes. All EOR employees must be fully offboarded (terminated or resigned) before the company-level master agreement can be closed. Remote's Offboarding Team manages the process and advises on country-specific notice requirements, which can range from a few weeks to several months depending on local labor law.

How much notice is required to cancel an EOR or payroll contract?

A minimum of 30 days' prior written notice is required to terminate the master service agreement. EOR contracts are typically 12-month terms that auto-renew — if you miss the cancellation window before renewal, you may be locked in for another year. Immediate termination is only permitted in cases of material breach or insolvency.

Log in to Remote dashboard

Go to employ.remote.com and sign in to your company account with your credentials.

Open Company Settings

Click on your profile or company name in the top-right corner and select 'Company Settings' from the dropdown menu.

Navigate to Pricing & Plans

In Company Settings, click on the 'Pricing & Plans' section in the left sidebar or settings navigation.

Select the plan to cancel

For Remote Recruit: click 'Go to Stripe portal' to manage your subscription. For Remote Perform: locate the Perform section and click 'Cancel plan'. For core EOR/Payroll/Contractor services, cancellation requires contacting your account manager or emailing help@remote.com with 30 days' written notice.

Confirm cancellation

For Recruit (in Stripe portal): click 'Cancel subscription' and confirm. For Perform: a confirmation modal appears showing the subscription end date — click 'Cancel subscription' to finalize. Your access continues until the end of the current billing cycle.

Offboard employees (EOR only)

If cancelling an EOR or payroll contract, you must first offboard all employees. Go to the 'People' tab, select each employee, click 'Offboard employee' or 'Submit termination request', and fill in the last working day, reason, and severance details. Remote's Offboarding Team will guide you through country-specific notice periods.

Send written termination notice (EOR only)

Send at least 30 days' prior written notice to terminate the master service agreement. Email your account manager or help@remote.com. Note: EOR contracts auto-renew for 12-month terms if not cancelled before the renewal date.
