What happens to my phone numbers and data when I close my account?

All data is permanently and immediately deleted upon closure — including all applications, phone numbers, endpoints, call logs, and user access. This action is irreversible and cannot be undone.

Will I get a refund for unused credits?

Yes, remaining credits are refunded to your original payment card within 20 business days, but only for recharges made within the last 90 days. Credits older than 90 days and any trial credits are not refunded.

Can I reactivate my Plivo account after closing it?

No. Account closure is permanent and irreversible. Additionally, once closed, the same email address and phone number used on the account cannot be used to create a new Plivo account — you must use a different email and phone number.

Will my team members still have access after I close the account?

No. All users and sub-accounts invited to manage the account lose access immediately upon closure.

Can I cancel just a phone number or plan without closing the entire account?

Yes. You can release individual phone numbers from the Numbers section in the Plivo Console without closing your account. Plivo uses a pay-as-you-go and credit-based model, so there is no recurring subscription to cancel — you simply stop recharging credits or release numbers as needed.

How long does the refund take to appear on my card?

Refunds for eligible credits (recharges within the last 90 days) are processed within 20 business days after account closure.

Log in to Plivo Console

Go to console.plivo.com and sign in with your Plivo account credentials (email and password).

Navigate to Account Settings

In the left-hand navigation, click on 'Account' to expand the account menu.

Open Service Address

Under the Account section, click on 'Service Address' to open the account settings page.

Click 'Close Account'

Scroll to the bottom of the Service Address page and click the red 'Close Account' button.

Confirm account closure in pop-up

A confirmation pop-up appears warning that closure is permanent and irreversible. Enter your Plivo account credentials (email and password) when prompted to confirm.

Submit closure request

Click the confirmation/submit button in the pop-up. Your account will be immediately closed and all data permanently deleted.
