Yes. Your SIM and number remain active until the cancellation effective date (typically 30 days after submission). You can continue making calls, sending texts, and using data until that date. After termination, the number is released and can no longer be used.

Can I get a refund of my remaining prepaid credit (Guthaben)?

Yes. After cancellation, you can request a payout of your remaining balance using the refund form on the ALDI TALK website ("Guthabenauszahlung beantragen"). Provide your phone number and bank account (IBAN) details. You have up to 3 years from your last top-up or cancellation date to claim the refund.

Can I keep my phone number when switching to a new provider?

Yes, but number portability (Rufnummernmitnahme) requires a written/postal cancellation — the online form does not support it. Download the official ALDI TALK cancellation PDF from https://www.alditalk.de/downloads-formulare, tick the number portability checkbox, and also complete the Portierungserklärung (porting declaration) form. Send both documents by registered mail to E-Plus Service GmbH, E-Plus-Straße 1, 40472 Düsseldorf. Inform your new provider within 20 days after cancellation. A portability fee of approximately €25 may apply.

What happens if I just stop recharging my SIM instead of cancelling?

If you stop topping up, your SIM enters an inactive state after your last package or credit expires. You then have approximately 12 months of inactivity plus a 2-month grace period before the SIM is automatically deactivated and the number is recycled. Any remaining credit is not automatically refunded — you must actively claim it via the refund form within 3 years.

Can I reactivate my ALDI TALK SIM after cancellation?

No. Once a formal cancellation is confirmed and the effective date has passed, the SIM contract is permanently terminated and the phone number is released. You would need to purchase a new ALDI TALK SIM card and start fresh. There is no reactivation option for a cancelled SIM.

How do I cancel only a specific data or call package (Tarifoption) without terminating the whole contract?

Log in to "Mein ALDI TALK" on the website or the ALDI TALK App, go to your active options/packages, and select the option you want to cancel. Packages are cancelled at the end of their current billing period (e.g., end of the month for monthly packages). No notice period is required for individual tariff options.

Go to the ALDI TALK cancellation portal

Open your browser and navigate to https://www.alditalk-kundenportal.de/kuendigung/ — this is the official online cancellation form ("Kündigungsbutton") introduced in July 2022. Alternatively, log in to "Mein ALDI TALK" via the website or the ALDI TALK App and look for the "Vertrag kündigen" option in your account settings.

Enter your personal details

Fill in your full name, address, and mobile phone number (Mobilfunknummer) associated with the ALDI TALK SIM card. You may also need your customer number (Kundennummer) and Hotline-PIN, which can be found in the ALDI TALK App under "Benutzerkonto".

Select cancellation type

Choose whether you want to cancel the full prepaid contract ("Gesamten Vertrag kündigen") or only a specific tariff option/package ("Tarifoption kündigen"). For full SIM/number termination, select the full contract option.

Choose cancellation reason

Select your reason from the dropdown: "Ordentliche Kündigung" (regular/ordinary cancellation) for a standard end-of-term termination, or "Außerordentliche Kündigung" (extraordinary/immediate cancellation) for an exceptional reason such as moving abroad.

Set the cancellation date

Choose when the cancellation should take effect: "Zum nächstmöglichen Termin" (next possible date, typically 30 days from submission) or enter a specific future date. The standard notice period is 30 days.

Submit by clicking "Jetzt kündigen"

Review all entered details and click the green "Jetzt kündigen" (Cancel Now) button to submit your cancellation request. The form is legally binding once submitted.

Receive cancellation confirmation

Within a few minutes you will receive a cancellation confirmation (Kündigungsbestätigung) via SMS and/or email. Keep this confirmation as proof. If you do not receive it within 24 hours, contact customer service at 0177 177 1157 (Mon–Fri 7:00–23:00, Sat–Sun & holidays 10:00–18:00) or email alditalk@eplus.de.
