What happens to my dedicated IP address?

Dedicated IPs are released when you downgrade or cancel. Your sender reputation built on that IP will be lost, which can affect deliverability if you switch providers.

Will my email templates be preserved?

If you downgrade to the free plan, your templates remain accessible. If you fully close your account, all data including templates will be permanently deleted.

Can I still send emails on the free plan?

Yes, the free plan allows up to 100 emails per day. For applications sending more than that, you'll need to upgrade or switch to another email provider.

Log into SendGrid

Go to app.sendgrid.com and sign in with your account.

Open account settings

Click on 'Settings' in the left sidebar, then select 'Account Details' or 'Plan & Billing'.

Navigate to your plan

Click on 'Your Plan' or 'Plan & Billing Details' to see your current Essentials, Pro, or Premier plan.

Downgrade or cancel

Click 'Change Plan' and select the Free tier, or click 'Cancel Account' if you want to fully close your account. Export contacts and templates before proceeding.

Update your application

Remove or update the SendGrid API key from your applications to avoid failed email delivery attempts after cancellation.

Confirm cancellation

Confirm the plan change or account closure. If downgrading to Free, you'll be limited to 100 emails per day.
