When does my mobile service actually end?

Your contract ends at the next valid cancellation date after your notice period. For 24-month contracts the notice period is 1 month before the contract end date. Once the minimum term has expired you can cancel monthly with 1 month's notice.

Can I withdraw my cancellation if I change my mind?

Yes. You can withdraw a submitted cancellation via the 1&1 Control Center or by calling customer service up to four weeks before the contract end date.

Are there early termination fees?

No. 1&1 does not charge early termination fees for standard mobile contracts cancelled at the regular end date. If you cancel mid-term (Sonderkündigung) due to a price increase or service failure, no fees apply either.

What happens to my 1&1 email address after cancellation?

Limited access to your 1&1 email account remains available for a period after the contract ends, but you will no longer be able to change your password. It is recommended to migrate or forward emails before the contract terminates.

Can I keep my mobile phone number when leaving 1&1?

Yes. You can port your number to your new provider. Request the number porting (Rufnummernmitnahme) directly with your new carrier before cancelling with 1&1 — the port itself triggers the termination of the old contract.

What if I miss the cancellation deadline?

If the minimum contract term has already expired, you can cancel at any time with 1 month's notice — the contract simply continues on a rolling monthly basis. If you are still within the minimum term and miss the deadline, the contract auto-renews and you must cancel again for the next period.

Log in to 1&1 Control Center

Go to control-center.1und1.de and sign in with your email address (or customer number) and password.

Open your contract

Click on 'Vertrag' (Contract) in the main navigation. If you have multiple contracts, select the mobile contract you want to cancel.

Initiate cancellation

Click the button labeled 'Vertrag kündigen' (Cancel contract) on the contract details page.

Click 'Hier Kündigung vormerken'

Scroll down to the section 'Vertrag zur Kündigung vormerken' and click 'Hier Kündigung vormerken' (Note cancellation here).

Select cancellation reason

Choose a cancellation reason from the dropdown or enter a custom reason. Then click 'Hier Kündigung vormerken' again to submit the online notice. You will receive an email with a reference number.

Confirm cancellation by phone within 7 days

Call 1&1 at 0721 960 96 00 (Mon–Fri 08:00–22:00, Sat–Sun 09:00–21:00) and quote your reference number to confirm the cancellation. Have your Service-PIN, phone number, and contract number ready. The online notice secures the cancellation deadline; the phone call finalises it.
