Sign in as Account Owner

Go to console.twilio.com and sign in. Only the account Owner role can close a Twilio account. If you are on an invoiced or enterprise plan, skip to step 6 — self-serve closure is not available for invoiced accounts.

Review your Flex plan and release phone numbers

In the left sidebar, navigate to Phone Numbers > Manage > Active Numbers. Click the trash/release icon next to each number to release it. Unreleased numbers continue to accrue monthly fees even after closing Flex.

Stop any remaining active subscriptions

Navigate to Billing > Subscriptions in the Console sidebar. Review any active add-ons or subscription line items tied to your Flex project and cancel each individually if options are present.

Open Account General Settings

In the top-right corner click your account name, then select Account from the dropdown. In the left menu go to Account Management > General Settings (direct URL: console.twilio.com/us1/account/manage-account/general-settings).

Click 'Close' and confirm deletion

Scroll to the very bottom of the General Settings page and click the 'Close' button. On the confirmation screen select 'DELETE ALL ACCOUNT DATA AND SETTINGS', then click Continue. Check each acknowledgment checkbox and click 'Close Account'. Your account is permanently closed immediately and any remaining prepaid balance is automatically refunded within 10 business days.

Invoiced/Enterprise accounts: contact Twilio Support

If your Twilio Flex account is on an invoiced billing arrangement, self-serve closure is not available. Open a support ticket from the Console (click the Help icon > Contact Support > Submit a Ticket) or reach Twilio Support via live chat from the Console.
