Back up your data

Before canceling, export your data. In the Capella console at cloud.couchbase.com, navigate to your cluster and click the 'Backup' tab. Download on-demand bucket backups as zip archives to your local machine — all data is permanently deleted once the cluster is destroyed.

Delete all clusters

Navigate to your Organization > Project in the Capella console. Under the 'Operational' tab, click your cluster name, then go to the 'Settings' tab. Click 'Delete Cluster', type the cluster name exactly in the confirmation dialog, then click 'Delete Cluster' again to confirm. If 'Deletion Protection' was enabled, disable it first. Repeat for every cluster. Charges stop accruing only once clusters are deleted.

Delete Columnar (Analytics) clusters

If you have any Columnar (Analytics) clusters, navigate to each one under your project, go to 'Settings', and click 'Delete Cluster'. Confirm deletion by typing the cluster name. These also continue billing until destroyed.

Submit a support ticket to delete your organization

In the Capella console, navigate to '[Organization Name] > Support' and click 'Create Support Ticket'. Set Topic to 'Billing/Account', enter a subject like 'Request to delete organization and cancel account', and describe that all clusters have been deleted and you want to close the account. Click 'Create'. If the portal is unavailable, email cloud@couchbase.com. Note: free-tier users cannot open support tickets — use Couchbase Forums or contact sales instead.

Remove saved payment methods

As a precaution while awaiting Support confirmation, navigate to 'Organization > Billing' in the Capella console and delete any saved credit cards to prevent accidental future charges.

Await confirmation from Couchbase Support

Couchbase Support will settle any remaining billing obligations and permanently delete your organization. Once confirmed, your account and all remaining data (including project-level backups) are purged.
