1

Review your contract terms

Check your Gem subscription agreement for the notice period required to cancel or non-renew. Gem plans are billed annually (some customers have multi-year contracts). Per Gem's Terms of Service, fees paid for the current term are non-refundable, and written notice is required.

2

Contact your Customer Success Manager

Reach out directly to your dedicated Gem Customer Success Manager via email or Slack to notify them of your intent to cancel or not renew. If you don't know who your CSM is, email support@gem.com with 'Subscription Cancellation' in the subject line.

3

Submit written cancellation notice

Send a formal written cancellation or non-renewal notice to your CSM and/or support@gem.com. Clearly state your company name, the cancellation effective date, and that you are requesting termination at the end of the current billing term. Gem's Terms require 30 days written notice for termination due to material breach; non-renewal timing follows your contract.

4

Confirm cancellation in writing

Request written confirmation from Gem that your cancellation has been processed and the date your access will end. Keep this confirmation for your records to prevent auto-renewal charges.

5

Offboard your team's users

Before your access ends, go to Settings > Users & Permissions and deprovision all team members. Transfer any active Projects via Options > Transfer Project to another owner. Disable or forward email accounts used for outreach Sequences to capture any candidate replies.

6

Export your data

Download or export any candidate data, reports, or analytics you need to retain before your account is closed. Contact support@gem.com if you need assistance with bulk data exports before the cancellation date.
